FISA Fight Moves to Senate
June 23, 2008 01:49 PM

The struggle to block the unconstitutional FISA reforms has moved to the Senate. Now is the time to call your senators and ask them to stand up to protect the Constitution and rule of law in the United States. You can send them a free fax from the ACLU website or you can call your Senator via the Capitol Hill Switchboard at (202)224-3121.

When you're done contacting your Senators, a few other Senators could use follow up calls. According to Daily Kos' Joan McCarter - the pressure points are Ried, Feingold and Dodd:

contact Harry Reid (Phone: (202) 224-3542, Fax: (202) 224-7327), Russ Feingold (Phone: (202) 224-5323, Fax: (202) 224-2725) and Chris Dodd (Phone: (202) 224-2823, Fax: (202) 224-1083). Ask them to do what they can to derail this train.

Additionally, our junior Senator from Illinois made a campaign pledge in 2007 that he would support a fillibuster of any bill containing immunity for telecoms - you can remind Senator Obama of his pledge by emailing his campaign: bburton@barackobama.com or calling them at (866) 675-2008.

To the phones!

Update: You can read good round-ups of the action at:

Christy Hardin Smith of Firedoglake
And, of course, Glenn Greenwald.
