A Librarian Gives Compelling Testimony on Mandatory Filters

On Wednesday, March 14th, the Illinois House Judiciary I – Civil Law – Committee approved and sent to the floor House Bill 1727, a measure that requires every public library in the State of Illinois to place clumsy, ineffective filtering software on every computer in their library. In the course of the testimony, we were moved by the testimony of one librarian, Tamiye Meehan, President of the Illinois Librarian Association.
